Set the password for the system administrator ("admin") user

Procedure

1. Connect the Academic RIO Device by its USB cable to establish the USBLANUSB-based local area network (LAN) established between the Academic RIO and the PC host computer. network
2. Select one of these supported browsers: Firefox, Internet Explorer, or Safari
3. Enter the network address 172.22.11.2
4. Select the “Security Configuration” page
5. Click the “Login” button
6. Enter “admin” for user name and leave the password field blank
7. Click the “Change Password” button
8. Enter the new password and then click the “Save” button; the system logs you out as part of this step
9. Try logging in with your new credentials and confirm that a blank entry for password no longer works
10. Remove permissions from the “Everyone” group:
    • Select the “Groups” tab
    • Select the “everyone” group
    • Click the top entry of the “This group has the following permissions” list
    • Shift-click the bottom entry of the same list
    • Click the “Remove” button
    • Click “Save”
