RT procedure

Manage the Academic RIO Device software set add-ons

You will need to enable some software set add-ons to make some built-in LabVIEW VIs work properly on the RT target, for example, 'SMTP client with SSL support' (for secure email) and 'HTTP Client with SSL Support' (for secure HTTP).

Procedure

  1. Connect the Academic RIO Device by its USB cable to establish the “USBLAN” network
  2. Start NI MAX
  3. Expand the “Remote Systems” hierarchy and select your Device
  4. Right-click “Software” and choose “Add/Remove Software”
  5. Enter your Device admin credentials
  6. Identify the add-ons to select or deselect; can choose more than one
  7. Click “Next” two times
  8. Requires about 7 minutes of time; observe the 3-blink code of the status LED
  9. Status LED turns off when the process is complete
